Behavior: white crystal or white powder; belongs to tetragonal system, relative density is 2.558, m.p. 993°C, b.p. 1695°C; slightly soluble in alcohols, soluble in water, water solution is alkaline, corrosive to glass; soluble in hydrofluoric acid and turns into sodium bifluoride.

Uses:

NaF is an important fluoride, used as pesticides and bactericides in agriculture.
Used as wood conservative, water treatment agent, ceramic pigment and fluoride treatment of light metal.
Used as UF2 adsorbent in neclear industry.
Used as materials for making other fluoride chemicals, in enamel industry, medical industry, paper-making industry, building materials, etc.
